Atley Lodge

Full interior project, which has since been improved further with adding more warm furnishings. A Scandinavian inspired project, adding steel stair details and a kitchen design that cleverly used a thoroughfare space and created a feature kitchen. The high voids have enhanced this wee chalet style house and created a cleaver small home that has all the spaces needed for a small family to function.

Franks Eatery

Total fit-out design and full Project Management of this new funky cafe.
Business: Frank’s Eatery - Cafe
Tenancy: Foyer of Ramada Hotel in Frankton, Queenstown
frank (adj.) To be honest, unrestrained, bold, straightforward.
A fresh, bold menu of locally and ethically sourced ingredients required an equally fresh design that could articulate the food brand concept within the interior.
Design Challenges: It was a problematic layout proposition, as the tenancy spans the 6m wide hotel foyer entry, creating ‘abysses’ and split spaces. We had to look at ways to create an internal seating plan and interior that linked the two spaces and created a hybrid of activity within the hotel foyer. To be successful, the business needed to attract loyal regular patrons beyond hotel guests, so it was vital to be seen as a destination cafe that would draw in locals, families, workers, and shoppers from the neighbouring retail centre. We achieved this by creating a vibrant interior, with raw pared back concrete walls and columns, feature lighting, feature steelwork and a cleaver use of the spaces.
Halme House

Furnishing of an existing home, we worked with the existing shell of the house and added furnishings only to enhance the existing interior finishes and kitchen joinery.

All items were selected with the clients input and we both worked in collaboration to produce a Scandinavian inspired lush interior for a holiday home.

#This project was done whilst I was employed by Spectrum and completed with the client when I started JVL Studio.
Lake House

Full renovation on a 1990,s house. Interior and exterior refit. Project Management and oversight of all items being installed into the new holiday house for an Australian couple. The clients were based overseas and we worked on the project together using technology and the Houzz App to its full potential to share ideas.
The face-lift was significant and involved full oversight, and onsite management throughout the project. Lots of fun working with this client who wanted to capture the views and create a luxurious holiday home without major alterations to the house. Working with the original interior spaces created a challenge. This project shows how you can really change a very basic house into a fantastic space with carefully chosen finishes and furnishings.

Mt Cook Alpine

Commercial project with a residential feel, to introduce luxury and comfort into an office space that required a kitchen and entry space to have tasters for their product. Mt cook Alpine Salmon required tasting facilities for their salmon at their new Head Office in Queenstown,
I've included this project as it has a residential feel, and the texture of the lights and consoles and wall finishes in woodtex could easily be transferred to a residential interior
